Frequent extreme weather events have driven technological upgrades in flood barriers, with "Transformer-style aluminum alloy flood panels" emerging as a new urban river flood defense solution thanks to their modular design. Crafted from aerospace-grade 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, each panel weighs less than 20kg. Using universal connectors, they seamlessly adapt to complex terrains like bends and 15° slopes for seamless assembly.
During a once-in-a-century torrential downpour in a southeastern coastal city, a six-person team erected a 1.2-kilometer flood wall in just six hours. It successfully withstood a 3.2-meter surge in water levels, achieving over 99% water retention. Its built-in honeycomb support frame and EPDM sealing strips withstand 2.5-meter water pressure, with a service life exceeding 20 years. During non-flood seasons, it can be disassembled and recycled, occupying only one-tenth the space of traditional sandbags. Currently deployed across 12 provinces and municipalities in China's river flood control projects, the system has accumulated over 20 kilometers of installation.
